Educational Assessments for Young People
At EduTesting we provide diagnostic assessments of ADHD, Intellectual Disability, Giftedness and Functional Capacity.
A comprehensive assessment offers several benefits even if a formal diagnosis is not made such as:
- Insight into strengths and weaknesses to understand the individual's unique learning profile.
- Personalized learning plan with strategies tailored to individual needs.
- Suitable classroom adjustments: Identifying modifications for a supportive learning environment.
- Access to special provisions: Enabling accommodations during school exams and assessments.
- Facilitates medical treatments: Connecting with specialist support for therapeutic interventions with the support of a paediatrician or psychiatrist.
The Assessment Process with EduTesting:
Initial Parent Consultation $295
This session can be completed in person or on zoom and allows the psychologist to obtain the relevant developmental history and recommend which assessment is most appropriate:
1. Assessment of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
This package includes a comprehensive cognitive assessment (WISC-V) and an ADHD executive functioning assessment. It is suitable for children aged 6 to 17 years and is priced at $2000 including the parent feedback session.
2. Cognitive Assessment for Intellectual Disability or Giftedness
A cognitive assessment, also known as an intelligence (IQ) assessment, evaluates an individual's information processing capabilities and can identify areas of cognitive strength or weakness. The WISC-V is administered in person for individuals aged 6 years to 17 years, at a cost of $1750 including the parent feedback session and report. This can then be used for entry into Special Developmental Schools or Giftedness programs and NDIS funding if applicable.
3. Specific Learning Disorders (SLD) Assessment
Specific learning disorders (SLDs), which include conditions such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia, are neurodevelopmental issues characterized by persistent challenges in reading, written expression, and mathematics. At EduTesting, we offer these assessments for students from Year 1 to 12 for a fee of $2600 which includes the parent feedback session and the report.
4. Functional Capacity Assessment for NDIS
An adaptive functioning assessment measures how well a person handles everyday tasks and meets the demands of daily life independently compared to others their age. This is commonly used in NDIS applications and/or reviews and costs $600.
Further Support
If eligible, 10 sessions can be provided of psychological support under a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your G.P. after the diagnosis is made.
